Legal Question in Tax Law in California

What can I do about Ronie Deutch whom I hired to help me with my IRS tax issue, but just terminated our agreement because I needed an extra week to make my monthly payment? I've already paid them close to $1500, and they even sent me a document stating there would be a $35 fee, if I pay late. Also, one of their reps told me in the beginning that my total would be $2285, 75% of that going to Ronie Deutch, and the rest to the IRS. Then, last week they said that I had to pay them an extra $320 for the Offer and Compromise they had just reached wit the IRS. Again, they already told me in the beginning that 25% of the $2285 was for the settlement with the IRS. I reminded them that I'm on 70% VA disability, which is $985/month, that I can't afford to pay that extra money, especially when we already had a deal. My initial conversation with them was recorded when the Rep, Michael Lee, told me so because he had to being an attorney online to confirm my personal info and the deal with the IRS. They just ripped me off for almost $1500! Again, what can I do. Thanks for your help/advice.

Go to the websites involving her and see what others are doing. You should have in writing the figure they originally told you it would cost to handle your case. If that clearly is supposed to cover all the work involved then they can not charge you anything above that. Since she is charging you as an attorney fee she had to have a written contract with you or she can get into trouble wtih the State Bar. Call them to see what they can do for you. Call up the IRS and try to find out what she really did for you. If al the IRS took was $500, they might have taken less than the $1,500 if you had offered it to them.
