Legal Question in Telecomm Law in California
If people post your personal info on the web
I know that if you post your own
information on the internet, you do it at
your own risk but what happens if
someone else, e.g. a close friend posts
some information about you on the
internet you don't want read.

Re: If people post your personal info on the web
This may be a case of catching more flies with honey than with vinegar.
Ask the "friend" to remove it.
Ask the site operator to remove it.
Decide if it's worth ending the friendship.
If so, consult a lawyer.
If the material is true, and just somewhat embarassing, you may not have much of a case... if the info is FALSE... consider a case of Libel.
