Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Bike hits open car door
I parked my car legally on the street. One of my passengers opens the rear street side door and it is hit by a fast moving bicyclist who approched from the rear. Whose fault?

Re: Bike hits open car door
You need to give a lot more facts to answer this. Just some questions that would need to be answered:
1. Where was the bike when the car door was open?
2. What part of the door impacted with what part of the bike?
3. Where is the damage to the door?
4. How fast was the bike going?
5. Was there a bike lane?
Thats just a start. When you have more details, it would be easier to answer.
