Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
I just bought a car off of a fellow on craigslist. He said that he would give me a couple weeks before he declaired it to the DMV, so that I would have a little time to find insurence.
My uncle just told me that his liability is released from the moment of the transaction. (IE when I handed him the money)
Is this true and does this mean that his insurence no longer covers the vehecle? That is that his insurence does not cover me driving it, even temporaroly.
Thank you,
sincerely
Eric Riggs
