Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

CA Driver's Licence

I got a ticket about 7 years ago and totally forgot about it. It was for no insurance and a cracked windshield, it was in a car I was test driving, i never bought the car, now GC Services says my licence is suspended until i pay, there charging me $ 1,001,00. Is there anyway of me getting the fine lowered, or something. I do in- home care, so i need my license to take my husband to drs. appt and other errands,is there a way for me to get it back by being the only adult in the household who can drive him to the drs. or anything like that.I dont have the money to pay it all at one time but can make pymts, and plan on doing so. but i need my license back like ASAP... Any help is greatly appreciated. thank you, and yes I am a blond.... humor never hurts..

Go to the traffic court and request that the matter be placed on the court's calendar. Appear in court and explain why you missed the appearance, involved in caring for your husband etc. Then explain your limited resources and the need for your driver's license.
