Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Car Accident
My son was a passager of a car that got into a accident. He had lower back pains and they took him to the Hospital by Ambulance. We have foundout that the driver of the vehicle he was in, did not have insurance at the time of the accident. My son who is 18, is hit with a 1,500 bill. Is the driver legally responsible for this Bill. Also, what options do we have for getting this bill paid.

Re: Car Accident
A few answers for you:
A - The driver who caused the accident is responsible. I can't tell from your post if that is the car your son was in or another car. But, whoever caused the accident would be responsible.
As for getting the bill paid, you have a few choices:
B - If your son qualifies, Medi-Cal will pay.
C - If you have health insurance or if your son has health insurance, they will pay.
D - If you have Uninsured motorist coverage and the at fault driver does not have insurance, then your UM coverage will pay for it.
