Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

My car was impounded by the police cause they said "they saw someone (my sons mom)" driving the car and she has a suspended license and warrents for her arrest but they never pulled her over or got her. the car was found an hour later in someone elses driveway my neighbor hood. They said that "they knew it was her cause they know her" and that she "got away" but they never tried to pull her over. Now I have a 30 day hold on my truck for someone driving with a suspended license but they never charged anyone for driving on a suspended license or any other crime...Is that legal?

Legal or not you have to deal with it. Find out from police what they need to give a release slip so that you can get car out of impound. Typically registration, insurance and license from registered owner.
