Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
My car was parked at LAX. Someone stole the license plates, and the car was towed and impounded. When I returned from my trip, I had no car, and no way to get home. I live 2 hours from LAX. The police are making me pay to get my car out of impound, even though I am not at fault for the car being towed. I would like to sue for the cost of getting the car out of impound, $500, the cost of the shuttle home, $100. Do I have a case?

You can beg for mercy from the LAX police. Otherwise, they may have the right to tow unlicensed cars.
