I rented a car my son-in -law crashed it and they want me to buy the car, what are my rights, in this matter and some options. they are charging me rental fees per day?

Was your son-in-law listed on the rental agreement as an authorized driver? Is he named as an insured on someone's auto insurance policy? If neither is true, you pay.

did you have collision insurance on your car, and did it cover any driver of your car. That insurance may cover the damages.
