Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

case1, suppose my friend was driving when he is drunk, and i asked him to give me a ride withought noticing he was drunk. at that time, if our car was stopped by the police, would i be recognized as complicity even if i did not knew he was drunk? if so, how heavy my responsibility is?would it be recorded?

case2. suppose that my friend was driving with temporary license, and I was next to him ( I have a parmanent license) when police stopped our car, and my friend noticed that she does not have a temporary license, or expired. would i have to take responsibility for it? besides, if i never accept responsibility like pretending i dont have license, is it possible for me to avoid taking responsibility?

In neither situation would you have any legal responsibility. The traffic violations are driving while drunk and driving without a license; your behavior did not cause either act nor abet it. But it is not very wise to take part in either situation. A drunk driver can kill his passengers and someone with a suspended license must have done something to get it suspended.
