Collision Loss (not my fault)

towing a utility trailer w/my truck was struck/ins. of other driver has paid me 4 my truck damage but says my utility trailer is totaled & is not worth the rpr & I have to salvage it/report it to DMV...do I HAVE to do that..I would rather rpr trailer & dont agree w/cost they have come up with...what can I do to force the issue w/them..my ins. does'nt cover this as I only had PL&PD...I want to keep my trailer...it worked just fine...what the heck depreciates in a trailer...only an axle...was all aluminum & ez to maneuver 4 me..ty for your help

The trailer has two values. First replacement value, that is the value to replace it. Second salvage value. Salvage value is the value it has as salvage. If you keep the trailer then the salvage value is deducted from the amount of your damages. Rather than argue about the depreciation of the trailer you shoud be searching for the replacement value.
