Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Out of country during court date
My girlfriend recently got a ticket going 87 in a 65. Her court date is scheduled after she leaves for Italy for 5 months to study abroad. Since she was going over 20mph past the limit, I know that the penalties will be rather severe. Any advice for what steps she can take to speed the process up or delay it for the time that she is gone? Thanks

Re: Out of country during court date
She has some options. 1st she can just pay the ticket by posting the bail. 2nd she can hire an attorney to appear for her and request a trial date after she returns, or request traffic school. 3rd she can contact the court clerk and explain her situation and request a referal to traffic school.
