Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
CVC Code placement on signs on private property
I recently received a ticket for a handicapp violation but the sign just had a picture of a handicapp wheelchair and no CVC (California Vehicle Code) number on the bottom. It was private property, a supermarket. Doesn't the CVC Code need to be displayed? Please Help.

Re: CVC Code placement on signs on private property
There is no requirement for a CVC code number, but to be a valid handicapped space it must have both a sign -and- a painted emblem on the pavement. Also, if you just forgot your placard, you should be able to get the ticket dismissed if you write a letter.
