Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
CVC vs Penal Code for kids left in car.
I received a letter from the district atty. regarding a violation of CVC ''megans law'' for stupidly leaving my kids in the car (I was stupid, not the law.) I have to go to court but am I better off with the CVC rather than the penal code? Will it be a fine and a ''slap on the wrist'' rather than possible CPS and jail or something scary like that?

Please be more specific. You are being charged with a crime? Or you are merely being asked to visit the district attorney's office? What locality do you live in? I strongly advise that you NOT speak to or have any contact with the district attorney's office until you have consulted a lawyer in person.
