Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Dealing with

Not long ago I received a notice from the CA DMV that I had a point on my license for a speeding ticket I received in Idaho. I've never driven through Idaho. I did get a speeding ticket in New Mexico, so I can only guess that there was a mistake in the reporting or recording of the incident. Being that I have never been to Idaho, do I have a legal recourse to take advantage of this error and get the point removed from my license? If so, how should I go about doing it? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Re: Dealing with

Contact the DMV and notify them that you have never been in Idaho. Then provide hotel receipts or other such evidence that you were in another location at the time of the alleged violation. If that is not successful then request the procedure for a hearing on the issue.
