Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Can a driver be ticketed for failing to stop at a miniature stop sign in a shopping center parking lot or elsewhere? I assume there must be physical requirements for traffic signs (i.e. color, size, shape.)

While there might be such requirements [I do not know], and the might not apply to private property], you knew you were supposed to stop so it would not really. If a normal sized stop sign had been knocked down with a large part of its wooden stake broken so it was much shorter than normal, and someone planted it back into the ground, would you argue that you did not have to stop? You should, however check with the manager of the parking lot to see if they have accepted that the lot be covered by the city traffic laws.
