Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
My drivers license recently was suspended due to a traffic violation that I did not pay off, and I got pulled over by a police officer who ended up towing the vehicle away due to suspended license, but the officer never told me the reason why I got pulled over in the first place. I would like to know if I pay off my ticket and renew my license can I get reimbursed for the towing expenses, or can I take it to court because the officer didnt tell me why he pulled me over ?

No, You can't get reimbursed simply because the officer did not tell you why he pulled you over. If the officer did not have a sufficient legal reason to pull you over then you need to challenge that by filing the appropriate motion in court. He will have to explain it to the judge. If the judge finds that the reason was not legally sufficient your case may be dismissed. If that is the case then you may have a claim against the police department and officer. If you do have a claim against the police department or officer then you will have only six months to present your claim. You should seek the advice of a lawyer to help you with these issues. Good luck.
