Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
I had a DUI in 1985. Just about every potential employer for positions I am seeking now asks if the applicant had a DUI. Being so long ago -- and I have kept my nose clean since -- am I legally obligated to say "yes". I thought that after seven years it is no longer an issue...
Thanks in advance!

There is no amount of time that would allow you to truthfully answer that you did not have a DUI as far as potential employers go. The passage of time would be applicable if you were to get another, as far as criminal charges and your driver's license. I doubt that a 26 year old DUI would prevent you from getting most jobs. You best bet is to be truthful.
