Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Error on traffic ticket

I received a traffic ticket for a rolling stop on my bicycle. My driver's license # was written wrong on the ticket. Does that give me any leeway (does it matter?) I went to court today and I plead not guilty. Is my court case going to be open and shut or is there room for negotiation?

Re: Error on traffic ticket

Thank you for your inquiry.

Clerical information, such as your license number, doesn't have to do with the fact that you did or did not commit the citable offense charged.

Depending upon which county you are in, you may be able to negotiate with the police officer, the district attorney, or the judge on the date of trial. There are also many discovery motions and other tactics that help greatly in these type of cases towards winning the case.

I hope this answer helps, but please feel free to contact me directly if you feel you need assistance or have additional questions. You can reach me at [email protected], or toll free at 1-877-568-2977. Thanks again, and best of luck.
