Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Too fast
Hello,
Unfortunatly I was driving home from Fry's Electronics in Buebank when I was stopped by a motorcycle officer and notified that I was doing 50 in a 35 zone. I was pretty surprised. He used a laser tool to clock my speed. I really don't have much defence since I really wasn't watching my speedometor. What can I do to beat this? Is he obligated to provide his testing certificate in the laser field or do I need request it?
Thank you for all your help. I went to traffic school about a year ago for an illegal left turn and no I am not a flagrent offender. This is only my second offence in over 10 years.
