Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Friend Fell Off Car Trunk
Last week my friend got in my car all drunk w/dog poo on his shoes. We started to drive away when he realized it & told me to stop & pull over. I did. He got out and started to cuss and act all beligerant. My friends & I kept telling him to get back in the car, its ok just wipe it off. He refused & insisted that he go back home to get new shoes etc. We tell him ok, get back in the car, it's not even a block away. Again he refused. I said sarcastically ''c'mon man, what u wanna ride on the trunk then?''. He says OK and jumps onto my trunk. @ this point I'm like lets just get him back cause he's acting stupid so I start to drive very slowly. I told him to lay back against the window & hold on. He did. Then out of nowhere he jumps off and falls. It didn't look bad, we were only going like 7mph or something. By this point were in front of his house. He said he wanted to see if he could jump off running but realized too late he was running the wrong way (drunk). Anyway, 1 of my 2 buddies in the car told him we were joking and someone said to 'punch it'. Now he's trying to say that I purposely 'Gassed it' and made him fly off the trunk, which is complete bull. Apparently he's hurtin pretty bad & he's trying to blame me for it...

Re: Friend Fell Off Car Trunk
Friends don't let friends ride on the trunk. Especially, friends don't punch it when friends are riding on the trunk. Then again, friends don't let friends.... well, let's just say this is what we lawyers call a D******* Case. If you get sued, hand the whole mess over to your auto insurance company.
