Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

My friend got a moving ticket in Beverly hills, Ca 2 years ago. He paid the ticket over the phone. He also appeared in court as he received the Notice to appear in Court. When he got there, he's name is not on the list as he checked with the clerk. So he left and did not get his notice stamped at least. >Does this mean he was cleared from the violation?

>Does he need to appear in court again?

>Would it be difficult to renew his driver's license that is expired 2yrs now?

Help please. Thank you.

It is difficult to answer your question without seeing the court docket. Assuming your description is accurate it appears that he paid the bail which is forfeited as the applicable fine. Unless he is noticed for a failure to appear, which you can determine by contacting the court there should be no problem and he need not appear again. Depending on his driving record he should have no difficulty renewing his license.
