Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
no front license plate
I was pulled over by an Exeter, Ca. cop for not having a front license plate on my car. Is that a valid reason for being pulled over? The cop then found out my license was suspended and I was uninsured so he impounded my car. The impound lot said they are holding my car for 30 days and will not even let me retrieve my personal belongings out of the car. What are my legal rights?

Re: no front license plate
Since driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance, and no front plate are all against the law, you have the right to pay for towing, impound, and 30 days storage. You have the right to have anything of value that was in your car disappear. You have the right to show up in court and pay a fine. And, this being a free country, you have the right to whine about it.
