Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Geico Insuance is filing a lawsuit against me.
What can I do to avoid this lawsuit. I was in a car accident in June of 2007 in Marysville,California. It involved myself and two pedestrians. They walked out in front of me not even bothering to look if there was any traffic. This happened in a walmart parking lot by the way. I have recieved a letter from an attorney representing Geico and they demanded that I pay $60,000.00 or they will file a lawsuit. I did not have insurance at the time of the accident. I need advice, please help.

Re: Geico Insuance is filing a lawsuit against me.
Not having insurance is the same as making a bet that you won't run over any pedestrians.
You lost the bet.
Now your choices are: 1) pay; 2) hire a lawyer and defend the lawsuit; or 3) file for bankruptcy. Your driver's license will be suspended until you pay or go bankrupt.
