Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Highway Patrol Rules
How many miles does a Highway Patrol officer have to pull someone over from the point of the infraction? In other words I saw the officer and he pulled me over 8 miles later and gave me a ticket for supposedly speedy when he first saw me. Thats seems like a long time to wait before pulling someone over. Can he do that?

Re: Highway Patrol Rules
It would make for good cross-examination of the officer at your trial, if he shows up. "Officer, isn't it true you didn't pull me over until over eight miles after you first saw me?" Read "Fight Your Ticket" (nolo.com).
