Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Hit and Run
My auto was parked on a public street adjacent to my home and was involved in a hit and run accident. I was able to obtain the license plate off the vehicle and has recently obtained the drivers name and address from the police report. I am reluctant to notify my insurance company for fear of increase in premiums. How can I obtain the drivers insurance information? Should I send a certified letter to their home? and How long do I have before I can no longer make a claim with my insurance co. (Hartford)?

dont waste time with the insurance company. take the owner of the car to small claims court. you have 3 years to do it.
