hit and run

What can i spect in court for a misdminor hit and run?First time it happened to me i am kinda confused.

The day i hit the car i fled to my house the cops found open beer in my car when i got home they were waiting for me they asked me in i had had a collision i told then the whole truth and told that i had drink a couple of beers but the other beer they found in the car were of a friend of mine which i was given a ride and also fled.They didnt arrest me but i got this letter from the district attorney to go to court on april 1. I am very worry and donnt know what to do.I had a dui 2 years and a half ago and i am worry that this will afect the judge desicion .What can i spect ? In the attorney letter he is charging me with .20002 cv.Olny but i am worry ..Please help me...

Thanks for your posted question.

Depending upon your exact charges, you can be charged with anywhere between the minimum and the maximum of the code sections filed. In your letter, you mention 20002, but it appears to me that you may have other issues, including a potential probation violation and perhaps an open container or DUI charge pending.

I'd recommend getting an attorney, or at least sitting down with an attorney (and most offer free consultations), to talk about your rights, your potential punishments, and strategies in the case. At least you'll be better prepared before you go to court, and will know what to expect.
