I had a cop in los angeles tell me that I can't live in my motorhome/house car. Is this true?

Re: house car
I will assume that you have nowhere else to live. Necessity is a defense to all crimes. If you don't have any place else to live, and you are legally parked, sure beats living under a bridge. However, the cops can arrest you and impound your vehicle, even if you are eventually cleared of criminal charges -- which might effectively cause you to lose the vehicle because of high towing and impound charges. Best to stay under the radar, find a good place to park, and don't show lights or make noise at night. The worse or more outlying neighborhood you can find, the more unlikely it is you will be hassled. Maybe you can come to an arrangement with a private property owner to let you park on his or her property.
