Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Jaywalking

I recieved a 114$ dollar ticket for jaywalking, but the girl who I was with didn't recieve one.

She went first. The officer saw her go first. However as soon as we reached the other side of the street he told me to stay and her to go.

Can I fight this due to discrimination?

I also have to attend traffic school to avoid a point on my drivers license. I find this ridiculous and the street was clear and the college cop was just giving me a hard time. He also made me late for class because he ran a backround check for felonies, warrants, asking me where I worked, if I liked my job, etc etc etc...

So any advice on how to handle this would be appriciated. I have heard that I can fight it, and then I have heard that I can't.

Thanks!

Re: Jaywalking

Go to traffic school. It's a fact that women receive less punishment from the justice system whether it be jaywalking or homicide. And whose fault is it that you were delayed when you chose to answer all those questions? Ever heard of the right to remain silent??
