Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

I live in California and have no offensives before this, I'm also 19.

Me and my friend were driving to venice Beach for the day, went by jack in box and meant some guys that could show us around. On our way there,all cars went to a complete stop. The car is front of me said that I hit her car, there was no damage and I gave her my information, but she refused to give me hers. She started yelling, freaking me out and I got into my car and parked on the side of the road. I left the scene and now I am being charged with a hit and run. I panic and was scared of my parents. The people in my car had alcohol but I was not drinking. They impounded my car and found alcohol in it, and saw people pouring it out but not me, how much trouble am I looking at? And I cant afford an attorney. What is the best legal advise? Will I be on probabtion and is there any possible change the charges can be drop. or is there no case??

If you don't hire an attorney, you will be stuck with the public defender and you will have to plead guilty, Aside from fines, probation and possibly jail time, this will result in your having a criminal record and you will never be able to get a job, ever. Borrow the money from your parents for an attorney.
