Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
my minor son recieved a traffic ticket a month ago and his name is not on the courts calendar for the date that was stipulated on the ticket. So what do we do?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Contact the traffic court clerk and find out what the situation is. Attorneys can give you legal advice but the best person to ask as to what actualy happens is the person directly involved in the process. Some traffic court commissioners start the hearings by stating that if ;you plead guilty the fine will be reduced [could be up to half] and you can sign up for traffic school, which now is also on line, so that you do not get a point on your insurance record. The Court's computers are not always that accurate so you have to keep track of the possible appearance/trial dates so as not to miss one and get into more trouble.
