Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
I missed my court date for a hit and run ticket.
I was trying to avoid a head on collision and lost control and hit a brick wall. The other car left the scene so I went after him. When I returned the Police were already there andticketed me for a misdemeanor hit and run. However, I missed my court date because I was sick. Now I have a warrant. What happens now if I go to the court house?

Your minor problem is getting the warrant set aside which can be accomplished by you or your lawyer's showing up at the courthouse, preferably with a doctor's note. Your major problem is avoiding a misdemeanor conviction. You had better consult a lawyer in person without delay.
