Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Mistakes on citation
I was recently cited for following too closely on a freeway on-ramp. However, the citation gave the wrong street for the on-ramp -- the one written down was a mile and a half away.
So, is the allegation "he did this at this location," or is it just "he did this," and the location is immaterial? If it's the former, is this sufficient to get the ticket thrown out, given that I was never there?

Re: Mistakes on citation
That kind of mistake by itself will not get the ticket thrown out but it could be used to attack the officers memory or credibility if you can prove the mistake. other mistakes like the wrong vehicle code section can get a ticket thrown out as a violation of due process because you do not know exactly what you are being charged with.
