I misused a handicap placard in calif and I'm scared to death of what is going to happen in court! Could you tell me what to expect

generally the first offense is a fine. The actual amount of the fine will depend upon the policy of the local judges. Although it is possible for a county jail sentence, that would seem unlikely. Go to court at the set time and date. Ask the judge for an indicated sentence. If the sentence involves jail time then you can ask the court for a continuance to consult with an attorney. The court should allow you a continuance to consult with an attorney.
