Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

i have an outstanding traffic case (expired registration and suspended license -- from previous citation which has since been dropped)with three failure to appear charges because my attorney didn't show to court on the assigned dates. this case is now in warrant status. his retainer was paid in full and i was told that my appearance in court was unnecessary because his team would make all appearances for me. I havent been able to get a response from him since the last "no-show" which was over a year ago. Should I try to handle this on my own or find another attorney?

You better find another attorney as the court will find it very difficult to believe your stating that three times you let your attorney burn you by not appearing. No one will believe that after failing to show twice you would assume he would show the third time. Your new attorney wil need to research where former counsel was on those days, talk to him about what happened, get some declarations, etc.
