Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Pedestrian Violation Affect DMV?
I got a violation for walking against a red light. My driver's lic. number was recorded (although my last name is misspelled). If I pay the fine, will a point count be charged on my DMV record? If so, is it better to contest in court? I've no previous violations.

Re: Pedestrian Violation Affect DMV?
Walking is not a driving offense and therefore should not result in a point on your driving record. If you wish to contest the ticket look at the Nolo Press book "How to Fight Your Traffic Ticket".
