Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Okay so I was pulled over last month. I was driving my friend's car, it is insured and registered. We got pulled over for no license plates. (on my ticket it says PC: No License Plates)
The car had Dealer plates on it though. ( You know, those plastic things they put on cars in car lots with the dealership name.) The officer also cited me for driving on a suspended license when in fact my license was not suspended (VC 14601.1) I just had not renewed my license yet. The day after I got the ticket I went down to the DMV and got my license renewed. I now have it in it's brand spanking new form. Also, before the police officer let me drive away with the car and the ticket he started to pull off the dealer plates and lo and behold, there were registered plates on the vehicle the entire time. I'm in the process of getting in to the military and driving on a suspended license is considered and misdemeanor offense. I live in California. I wish to contest this but I am unsure of how to go about doing that. I haven't been to court for it yet either.
