Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Rear-end collisions
On a feeway off-ramp intersection with free-flowing traffic, ie. no stop sign, a lady stopped even though there was no sign. My daughter tapped her bumper from behind. No damage or injury was obvious. The lady wants me to pay for damages to her rear bumper. Am I liable since she is the one who stopped where she shouldn't? Thanks.

Re: Rear-end collisions
There is a law against making a sudden stop without reason but there is also a law against following too closely. its a toss up.
