Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
I recently was in a motorcycle accident. I hired a lawyer who's commission was 33% of my settlement minus property settlement. Is this the average amount for a typical case? Essentially the two biggest things he's doing is negotiating with the other parties insurance company and negotiating with my medical insurance to lower the payback on the bills. Could I have done all this myself and saved a considerable amount or does there legal strings he's pulling that I cant?

This is a typical fee. Normally an attorney earns his fee and gets you more than you can on your own. This also allows you to concentrate on getting better and takes the stress off you.
