Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

request to change court date

i currently have a court date of june 14, 2005, and I'd like to request the matter be heard sometime after June 30, 2005. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?

You would have to ask the judge for a continuance. This request should be supported by a good reason for the continuance. However, if this is your first appearance then you could request that the court date be set after June 30, 2005. If your case is set for trial you should notify the police officer of your intention to request a continuance. Nolo Press publishes a book "How to Fight Your Traffic Ticket" this book has a lot of valuable information on how to fight your ticket. It is available on the net.
