Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

if i'm riding a bicycle and get pulled over for a traffic violation, is the officer aloud to search me if i have no warrants?,not on parole or probation. is he aloud to search my backpack if the zipper is padlocked closed?if i'm wearing a backpack with a small box or container that is padlocked can a cop search it if im not suspected of commiting a crime?
