Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
rights of cyclists on the sidewalk in Los Angeles
According to the California Vehicle Code it is legal to ride a bicycle on on most sidewalks in Los Angeles. However, in the CVC, there is no mention if the bicyclist has the same rights as a pedestrian. It would seem logical that if it is legal to ride a bike on the sidewalk the bicyclists would have the same rights as a pedestrian. What are the rights of a bicyclist on the sidewalk?

Re: rights of cyclists on the sidewalk in Los Angeles
It is my understanding that bicycles are to be ridden on the road and are subject to the same rules as a motor vehicle.
