Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

Speeding Ticket 107MPH

I was given a speeding ticket for 107 mph at 12:30AM. I was coming back from my hospital to home, 1 1/2 hour drive. I just want the ticket to be under 100MPH, so it doesn't go to my insurance. I have never gone over 90MPH, so it was a complete surprise that I was driving at 107 MPH. Thank you.

Re: Speeding Ticket 107MPH

if you feel strongly about your case here, we definitely suggest that you fight the ticket in court. remember, the burden of proof is on the prosecution, and more often than not, the citing officer may not even make an appearance at your hearing, which could easily result in your citation and case being thrown out with prejudice. Before you decide what you want to do read the Nolo Press book "Fight Your Traffic Ticket". At a speed over 100 miles per hour the failure of the police officer to appear in court is unlikely.
