Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
speeding ticket -- questioning traffic survey
I got a speeding ticket (caught by laser) for 71/45 on Imperial Hwy, LaMirada, CA.
In my understanding of the CA traffic law, a speeding trap has to be supported among others by an engineering & traffic survey of the street, that is not more than 5 years old. I checked with the city and their last survey was done 7 years ago. Is this a defence that the prosecutor will listen to? Is it five or seven years that a survey is valid for?
Thank you.
