statute of limitations for a misdemeanor
The driver of a vehicle involved in an accient that resulted in injury, fled the scene.
What is the statute of limitations for this misdemeanor charge? Offence of: (Calif.) VC20001(A)/(B). An arrest warrant for the driver was issued 3/10/05.

Re: statute of limitations for a misdemeanor
This section can be charged as either a misdemeanor or a felony. Thus there is 3 year statute of limitations. Also once a complalint is file the 3 year statute of limitations ceases to run. A criminal complaint is required to be filed before an arrest warrant is issued.
