Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
I got a ticket ,my car was impounded for 30 days.VC was 14601.1,When I went to my court date.I was told the DA didn't know what they was going to do yet.That was back in May 2009. I recieved a letter from the DA ,had changed the VC to12500(A).Can they do that??

Yes. They make the charging decision. You should be happy. A 12500(a), although still a misdemeanor, is a lower offense than driving on suspended license. If you are able to get your license back, the DA and/or judge may either reduce it to an infraction or dismiss it.
