Legal Question in Traffic Law in California

ticket for ''flicking ashes onto fwy''

I was in stop and crawl traffic when I ws pulled over. I was given a ticket for 23111VC. I did tap ashes onto the freeway, but the definition of ashes is ''The grayish-white to black powdery residue left when something is burned.'' Traffic was stopped and there was no wind that day --- no glowing or lighted sustances were deposited on the freeway.

I think this is simply a case of an officer profiling my car in hopes of meeting his quota.

Am I correct in assuming that the officer in question does not know what ashes mean? Is this case worth fighting in court?

Define worth fighting. The fine for this violation will probably be only a fraction of the attorney fees required to retain an attorney to represent you. If you want to fight it without an attorney refer to the book "how to fight your traffic ticket" from nolo press.
