Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
I got a ticket for running a red light, I went to court asked for community service and it was granted because I was unemployed at the time. I am not employed and don't want to do community service anymore. I already completed 10 hours of the 57 I was assigned and therefore lies my question. Will I be able to pay off my ticket, and if so will the court subtract the amount of hours I put in plus the fees I payed to do community service from the original fine amount I owe? Or will it stay the same?

You can appear in court to request to reinstate the fine instead of the community service. You should be given credit for the community service and it should be deducted from the base fine amount.
