Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
i got a traffic citation, i missed my court date. I tried to get community service instead of paying $ for the ticket. Told to write a letter to the judge, so I did but i just received a collections letter ? What can I do ?

"told to write a letter to the judge". Totally bad and stupid advice, whoever gave that to you. Judges don't respond to letters. If you wanted him/her to give you community service you have to do that in court in front of the judge.
I'd go back to court and ask for a hearing in front of the judge to see if he/she can give you community service despite all that.
