Legal Question in Traffic Law in California
Traffice stop - probable cause
While waiting to turn onto my street to return home a police car pulled up behind me. I was sitting at the intersection with my turning indicator on, and turned when the on-coming traffice cleared. I drove down my street and proceeded to park in front of my building, when I saw police lights behind me. The police office approached my now parked car and told me she ran my licsense plate and found that my liscense was suspended. Can a police officer run the plate of a car with no probable cause?
